Live Strategy Sessions

This Is Where the Curriculum Becomes Capability

Live Strategy Sessions are the practice environment at the heart of the School. Not a webinar. Not a workshop. A structured space where strategy gets done.

The Problem with Learning Without Doing

You can study strategy indefinitely and still not be able to lead it.

Frameworks make sense on paper. They become capability only when you apply them — under real conditions, with real constraints, while watching how you think.

That is what Live Strategy Sessions are designed to produce.

Real challenges. Structured reasoning. Peer exposure.

Each session brings together a small group of participants working on genuine strategic challenges — their own organizations, functions, teams, their own decisions, their own constraints.

The session is not a lecture. It is not a case study discussion. It is a guided reasoning environment: participants work through a strategic situation using structured frameworks, expose their thinking to peers, and receive direct feedback on the quality of their diagnosis and choices.

The challenge is real. The stakes are real. The learning is proportionate.

How a Session Works

The structure of a session

01
Bring a challenge
A participant presents a real strategic situation — a choice that needs to be made, a direction that needs to be set, a problem that resists easy resolution, a step in the strategy process that needs to be led.
02
Diagnose together
03
Reason through choices
04
Receive feedback

Not a case study. Not a workshop. Not a masterclass.

Case studies present someone else's situation, already resolved. You analyse what happened.

You do not make the choice.

Workshops are structured around exercises. The challenge is designed. The constraints are artificial.

The stakes are not yours.

Masterclasses deliver expert perspective. They deepen knowledge.

They do not develop the ability to reason through your own situation.

Live Strategy Sessions are none of these. The situation is yours. The reasoning is yours. The feedback is direct. The capability that develops is real.

What you leave with.

Every session produces something concrete.

Clearer diagnosis

A sharper understanding of what is actually going on in your strategic situation — and what it implies.

Tested reasoning

Your strategic thinking, examined by peers and structured feedback. Stronger for having been challenged.

Exposure to other minds

Watching how other experienced leaders reason through hard problems is one of the most underrated forms of strategic development.

Progress on a real challenge

Not a hypothetical resolved. An actual strategic situation moved forward.

How to access Live Strategy Sessions.

Sessions run regularly. They are available to all School participants as part of the practice environment — not as an add-on, not as a premium tier.

Participants may bring their own challenge or join as a peer contributor to another leader's situation. Both roles develop capability.

Frequency

Sessions run on a regular cadence. Participants join when a challenge is live and relevant — not on a fixed schedule.

Format

Small groups. Structured facilitation. A defined process that makes the reasoning visible and the feedback useful.

Capability develops through doing. This is where the doing happens.
